The Casa de la Marquesa will open its doors this year, but not the ambiguous Dénia history museum that will host

November 18 from 2021 - 07: 00

The Casa de la Marquesa Valero de Palma will be the location of the city's new museum. To this end, different reforms have been carried out to rehabilitate the emblematic space that housed for a time, almost two decades ago, the Tenor Cortís music conservatory. Although it is not new news, now it finally seems that its opening is near. But when?

The Councilor for Territory and Urban Quality, Maria Josep Ripoll, took advantage the press conference for the choice of the city to receive Next Generation funds to announce that precisely one of the city's historic buildings recently restored and intended for cultural use, the Casa de la Marquesa Valero de Palma, is the place chosen to display the panels with the 15 proposals submitted to the ideas competition on the future of the site of the old ambulatory.

Before the end of the year, Ripoll commented, "we will hold a public event at the Casa de la Marquesa to publicize the winning project and present the proposals that have been entered."

In this way, the presentation will serve to show residents the facilities that will house a museum that will initially focus on the history of Dénia. However, little has been specified about the nature of its content, so the only thing that is known is that ambiguous topic mentioned.

The exact date of the museum's inauguration as such is also a mystery, because although the building is now being presented, there is still work on the interior architecture to make it the ideal setting for the exhibitions.
