The 25N campaign in Dénia will go this year aimed at men

With the slogan "If you are a man, put an end to sexist violence!", the Dénia City Council launches the 25N campaign for the fight to eliminate violence against women.

This year, the Department of Equality has put, for the first time, the focus on the aggressors and not on the victims. Councilor for Equality and Diversity, Javier Scotto, explains that the campaign "wants to emphasize that ending violence is a matter of possessive men, the aggressors, the violent, the abusers, the oppressors and the harassers." Scotto calls on the men of Dénia to "resolve the pandemic situation of gender violence, to break stereotypes, macho discourses and any type of physical or psychological violence."

The activities will begin with a program for young people. Between Monday 21 and Wednesday 23 November the micro-theater play will be staged Crash Pum Zas Yam Guao of the EseOesE Teatro Cultural Association with the collaboration of the Matria association for secondary school students.

The period of participation in the drawing contest in schools and institutes also begins on the 21st, which will close on Friday, November 25. Primary and secondary school students may participate.

On Friday, November 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m., the elderly of the Santa Llúcia municipal residence will make a mural with the help of the facilitator Alejandra de la Torre. At the same time, but on Calle de la Via, a 'vaccination campaign against gender violence' will take place, organized by the Matria association.

The conference will be in charge of Aina Penyarroja Donet, social worker and doctor in the Women, Feminist and Gender Studies and Research program from the Miguel Hernández University of Elche and Alejandro Lux de Haro, social worker and specialist in Masculinities, Equality and Gender.

On Saturday 26, at 20:00 p.m., the Social Center will host the play The palace of Paremia, performed by the Tarannà theater company, aimed at all audiences. Admission is free.

On Sunday 27, at 19:00 p.m., the documentary will be screened in the Social Center auditorium Flowers for shell and the feature film A promising young woman. The Matria association collaborates in the activity.

On Wednesday, November 30, at 09:00 a training day will be held to learn about how to care for women in a situation of prostitution, in the House of Culture de Xàbia. The activity is organized by the Regional Equality Network of the Marina Alta and is directed by specialized technical personnel.

Finally, on Sunday, December 4, the short documentary film will be screened at 19:00 p.m. at the Social Center Mariama, an activity in which Matria collaborates.
