The influx of visitors in July is close to that registered in the pre-pandemic summers

August 05 from 2021 - 13: 24

The second summer of the pandemic has now reached the equator and the truth is that the streets of Diane seem as alive as ever. Now, with the data provided by the Dénia City Council, it is confirmed that, indeed, the month of July has had a very similar presence of visitors to those enjoyed before the arrival of the coronavirus.

Last July, more than positive data were already obtained despite the very pessimistic predictions after leaving confinement. This year again, an increase in the influx can be seen more than considerable compared to the rest of the months.

To know the approximate number of visitors, the Dénia City Council is based on the kilograms of urban solid waste collected and water consumption. During the month of July 2021, 2.840.270 kilograms of garbage have been collected, only 100.000 less than in the summer of 2019, before the pandemic, and almost 150.000 kilograms more than last July.

In the case of water, 466.785 m3 have been consumed, a figure that is close to the 492.879 m3 consumed in 2019. Thus, it can be established that the level of visitors continues to be high during the first half of the summer season, despite of the coronavirus pandemic.
