Compromís has announced who will be the winners of the Premis of 2018 Tardor, after the voting period of proposals made by the militants and sympathizers of the collective.
In the individual category, Jaime Higueras, better known as Jimmy, has been chosen in the individual category "for his extensive social work and his role as head of the Facing the curb association" explained Vicent Català, local secretary. "Jimmy has an extensive curriculum, dedicated to the world of sports and the work of integration of people with disabilities, but he is especially recognized for his generous and supportive personality, and loved for his daily struggle to make this world a more dignified place" said Català.
As for the collective prize, it has been the Falla Districte Marítim Baix la Mar, the most voted among the proposals, "Since the entity's commitment to culture, language, equality and territory is exemplary, visible with the many initiatives carried out for many years".
The award ceremony will be, as in recent years, in the Jauja room of the Maritime station de Baleària, on 23 Friday of November at 20 hours. This year will have a special character because it is the 25 anniversary of the birth of the awards, which were created with the aim of recognizing the work and work of cultural, environmental and social promotion of people and groups in our territory.
