This Thursday, three of the four children accused of raping a young girl in a group have been admitted to a juvenile center. The three accused were arrested in early March, when the girl, a minor, reported the events that occurred, apparently, last summer.
At that time, the youths were released under the tutelage of their parents after giving a court statement. Now, at the request of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, the three have been interned in a center.
The fourth of the accused reside in France with his family for a few months. Currently, the necessary steps are being taken so that he can appear before the juvenile prosecutor's office that investigates the case.
The facts
The events occurred one afternoon of the month of July of the past year 2018, in an area of wasteland, next to the cemetery of Pego. The victim and a friend went for a walk with four boys, of Maghrebi origin, whom they knew because they were all high school classmates. At one point, the friend of the victim had to leave and she was left alone with the alleged aggressors, who forced him to move to a nearby wasteland, where the denounced events took place.
In October of 2018, the victim told the people in charge of the school that she had a problem with her high school classmate, who was threatening to broadcast a video, without telling her content. The youngest also related that, one day last summer, she had stayed with a friend and that there was also a group of boys, whom she fully identified as students of the same institute. That at one point her friend left and left her alone with the boys, saying that something happened, without specifying what, and that they had recorded it, reiterating her concern about the possible dissemination of the aforementioned video.
At the end of February of 2019, the guidance counselor of the school interviewed again with the minor and, on this occasion, she did tell him the totality of what happened.
The facts were brought to the attention of the Civil Guard, who immediately took charge of the investigation, through the Judicial Police Team of the Civil Guard of Jávea, supported by agents specialized in the action before acts of this type, in which the victims are women or minors.
The complaint was finally formalized by the victim on March 1, resulting in the arrest, the March 5, of three of the four minors, allegedly authors of the events, since the fourth resides in France since the end of last year 2018.
The Department of New Technologies of the Civil Guard is analyzing the content of mobile phones operated on minors, in order to verify the existence of possible video recordings of these events.
