Hotel Dénia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort & Spa awarded at the Hostelco Awards

On October 29, the winners of the awards granted by HOSTELCO at a national level in the field of hospitality were issued. HOSTELCO enhances the activity of hotels and restaurants by giving them visibility at the level of design, sustainability and user experience. In this edition, the Dénia Marriott Hotel has been the winner in the category of Best Repositioning La Sella Golf Resort & Spa. The design studio was Mónica Fullana Arquitectura e Interiorismo, also from Dénia.

The Hostelco Awards 2020 They wanted to especially recognize the efforts of all the companies and professionals that make up the hospitality sector, one of the most affected by the health crisis generated by Covid-19. The awards have recognized the most innovative and sustainable projects in the country with the aim of serving as a stimulus and support to face the future of this industry.

The jury of the Hostelco Awards 2020, made up of experts from the sector, has selected the nine winners of the awards convened in the categories of 'Hospitality and Tourist Accommodation', 'Catering', 'Product' and 'Professionals of the Horeca sector' after evaluating the innovation, sustainability, quality, design, functionality and efficiency of the projects, products and services presented this year. The contest, which was convened before the health crisis, has had a total of 201 applications, 45% more than in the 2018 edition, presented by companies and professionals from Spain, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, USA. and Paraguay.

According to Rafael Olmos, president of Hostelco and of the Spanish Federation of Associations of Manufacturers of Machinery for Hospitality, Communities and Related Industries, FELAC, co-organizer of the show, "In this historical moment so complex and marked by uncertainty, we want these awards to serve not only as recognition of a job well done but also as an incentive for companies to regain the necessary momentum to continue investing in innovation and quality, crucial elements in an area as competitive and demanding as machinery and equipment for hotels, restaurants and communities. For this reason and despite the strong impact of the health crisis, we wanted to fail the awards that also pretend to be a show of solidarity and support to the hospitality sector that, now more than ever, needs to recover its activity and the illusion to be strengthened of this crisis ”.

Hotels and Tourist Accommodation

In the category "Hotels and Tourist Accommodation", the award for the Best Hotel Concept has been awarded to "2060 The Newton Hostel", an urban oasis created by the design company Wanna, which has 27 rooms in the center of Madrid "where travelers enjoy a creative space that offers a unique experience for the senses ”. On the other hand, the award for the Best Hotel Project has gone to the study of Sandra Tarruella y Asociados for the design of the “Hotel H10 Palacio Colomera” in Córdoba, which includes an innovative area dedicated to 'digital detox' so that the client can interrupt the constant technological rhythm and disconnect in a relaxing atmosphere. The winner of the Best Hotel Repositioning award has been the renovation project of the Dénia Marriott Hotel La Sella Golf Resort & Spa, signed by Fraile Project + Mónica Fullana Arquitectura e Interiorismo, for "having remained faithful in their reform to the traditional elements of the environment, also having certificates of sustainability and implementation of technological operating systems".
