Today on World Breast Cancer Day and the HLA Group has prepared various events in each of its headquarters, in various cities of the country.
In Spain, new breast cancers are diagnosed more than 30.000 per year and this is the most frequent tumor in Western women. One in eight women will suffer breast cancer throughout their lives according to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC). The cure rate of this tumor, diagnosed at an early stage with the appropriate diagnostic methods and following the current treatments, is approximately 95%. "It is important for women to know that the high rates of cancer cure are achieved thanks to the latest generation technology that we currently have, as well as the combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy that are applied according to the specific case, always under the supervision of a specialist " says Dr. Begoña Patiño Bernal, general surgeon and digestive tract HLA San Carlos.
HLA prepares a large display in its centers to mark the day of breast cancer. To commemorate this day, at HLA San Carlos Office will sponsor the 1st Solidarity Race against this pathology that will take place in Ondara the 21 of October at the 09: 30h in the morning where the runners will cover a distance of 4.500 meters of urban circuit with departure and arrival in the Social Center of the city.
Acts in various HLA hospitals
Another of the actions that will take place will be the concert of Manu Tenorio, sponsored by HLA La Vega in Murcia. The singer is the image of the Women's Units of HLA and, today Friday, will be at a press conference at the HLA Murcia hospital presenting the new center unit.
HLA Montpellier in Zaragoza will join the commemoration of this day with a program of informative activities and awareness about this disease with an information desk in its facilities, in which the professionals of the center will empower the population on the protocols to follow and the experience of the center that offers women the possibility of diagnosing this disease through its program "Mama Alert" in less than 48 hours.
In Seville the international department of HLA Santa Isabel has participated in the sponsorship of some T-shirts for the Rose Cultural March organized by the Hotel Alfonso XIII. And HLA Granada, Hospital Immaculate, prepares a talk to discuss the progress in the treatment and management of this disease, as well as the necessary care once the treatments are completed. This talk will take place next Tuesday, 23 October, in the hospital's auditorium.
