Grimalt responds to the latest PP accusations, emphasizing the "mismanagement" of the Kringe government with Feder funds

August 23 from 2019 - 13: 43

This noon, the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, has appeared before the media to present the Government's point of view on the latest accusations of the municipal group of Party. Exactly, you referred to the question of the return of funds from DéniaFutur, as well as the motion that the popular ones presented yesterday to urge the placement of mooring buoys on the Dianense coast.

Regarding the ruling that obliges the City Council to return € 315000 of the European grants granted for the DéniaFutur project, Grimalt has insisted that this procedure was carried out during the government of Paqui Viciano (PSPV) but that after the motion of censure was the government of Ana Kringe (PP) the one that managed the projects for which this money was allocated, many of which differed to a great extent from those presented for the acquisition of the funds.

The City Council has highlighted as examples of the "bad management" of the PP with this investment the creation of the ecopark in El Calif, which had to be disassembled after a ruling, and the remodeling of the Town Hall Square and the Plaza del Consell.

In the latter it has placed special emphasis due to its lack of functionality due to the reduction of usable space for the realization of events, since it limits much more the capacity to sit and witness any of the acts that take place there. In addition, he has expressed suspicion about whether he met when the minimum safety conditions were created, since he considers that the location of the steps, as well as their shape and paint are a danger to people.

He has also stressed the status of the Tourist Office that is in the square, which due to their lack of isolation has forced them to close in the afternoon during the summer. Grimalt has announced that they are going to look for some subsidy with which to be able to condition the building and thus be able to use it, or they will have to be planted to close it. "To be as they are, it is better to knock them down and recover space, declared the mayor.

However, they have reported that, despite complying with the money back sentence, after studying the case they have found a way by which they could get rid of the refund. Since the last movement in reference to the subsidy took place on 11 in March of 2015, the City Council has filed an appeal because more than 4 years have passed, so it should prescribe.

Response to the motion of the PP for the lack of mooring buoys

Grimalt has also wanted to address the issue of the motion that the PP presented yesterday for the lack of mooring buoys in Dénia. According to the mayor, it would be impossible to face the request of the popular to put as many points as the demand requires since no one can know what the necessary amount is.

He has taken the opportunity to remember that there are already many mooring points, both buoys and chemical blocks, in the town. Exactly, today you can find 17 divided between Les Rotes and Cova Tallada.
