Gema Estrela: "The best way out for Dénia and for me was to resign"

February 14 from 2019 - 16: 31

Gema Estrela, president of the CD Dénia, called the press to clarify the reasons that led him to resign from his post. Estrela explained that "I have a new job occupation that takes me time to devote to the club and as I explained in my writing, this is coupled with personal issues".

Estrela itself recognizes that "Tano Bertó told me that the group of investors who are going to inject money into the club, asked me not to be in that new project. I think it's the best for the club and that's why I agreed. Besides, I think it was also a good way out for me".

The former president clarifies that "Even if I resign as president, I will continue to be part of the board, as a member and helping as necessary".

In its public march recognizes that the City has helped to reach the current economic situation. Estrela commented that "One of our sponsors had a project in which they were going to take care of changing the lawn of the sports center field, keeping it for 4 and 5 years, in exchange for just holding an international soccer tournament, for two months. That does not mean that it was to privatize the field or anything. All the doors were closed to us, in none of the three meetings held in the town hall they gave us facilities to this project of the CHG company. They, seeing the obstacles put in place, chose not to continue with the sponsorship".

But it is not only this issue in which they are harmed by the municipal entity, as Estrela points out, "Before and since I was eight years ago in Dénia, there were two strong companies that always helped us in the club and suddenly they stopped helping us. I have had more support with another legislature".

The dianense exmandataria again charged against the council by pointing out that "I do not understand about the change of grass in the Rodat field, when we asked that the Field Diego Mena and we were denied. Can I think that this is something personal and that has closed me a lot of doors too? I asked the same in a plenary session and nobody could answer me".

After the departure of Gema Estrela from the presidency, Toni Martí becomes the visible head of the club, since according to the statutes it corresponds to the Vice President. A position that may hold for three more seasons. Along with Marti remain the rest of managers, with the incorporation of the own Gem that will perform the functions of vowel.

It is announced that during the next weeks there will be a meeting in which the direction the entity will take will be marked, although there is no intention of holding elections in the near future.

Now everyone trusts what was announced by Bertó himself "In a few weeks the situation will be regularized and the economic stability of the entity will be ensured to be able to end the season without repeating past episodes of defaults with the players".

Banana country, much circus (soccer and more football) and the serious problems in local health almost nothing. What a shame!
