Francesc Gisbert i Muñoz wins the IV Prize for child-youth narrative in valencià Ciutat de Dénia 2021

This past Sunday, October 24, coinciding with the celebration of Libraries Day, the name of the winner of the IV Prize for Children's Narrative in Valencian City of Dénia 2021 was made public, in a ceremony held at the auditorium of the Social Center of Denia.

The winner of this fourth edition is Francesc Gisbert i Muñoz with the work The adventures of Diània, a book of intrigue and adventures set in the time of the Roman Empire.

The award, organized by the City Council of Dénia, in collaboration with the Valencian publisher Andana Editorial, and coordinated by the Public Library of Dénia, is endowed with 3.000 euros and the publication of the winning work in Andana Editorial.

At the award ceremony, the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, accompanied by the Councilor for Culture, Raúl García de la Reina and the editor of Andana editorial, Ricard Peris, presented the winner with the prize, made by the users of TAPIS Dénia. The edition of the winning work was also presented at the event, The adventures of Diània, illustrated by Javier Lacasta Llàcer.

The gala ended with the puppet show Goodbye peter pan, from the Pistacho theater company.

The jury for the fourth edition has been made up of two representatives from the Dénia City Council, Llúcia Signes Mata i Mar Reus Bas, two from Andana Editorial, Ricard Peris and Llúcia Casanova, and one the specialist in children's literature Vicent Vidal. This year a total of 27 works have been submitted to the contest.

The Children's-Youth Narrative Award in Valencian Ciutat de Dénia is open to all writers, whatever their nationality, who present original and unpublished works of narrative, written in Valencian and suitable for children's readers (9-12 years old).

In the 1st edition of the award (2018) the winning work was The island of memoriesby Marta Julià Satorra. The second (2019) he won The infinite island, by Muriel Villanueva, leaving the 2020 edition deserted.
