Filà walies

La filà waliesBelonging to Moorish side of parties Moors and Christians Denia, was one of the founders of the party in 1980. Components djellaba dress with golden stripes, orange and black shield hanging filà and black bonnet. It currently consists of thirty festeros.

Name's origin

The Walies were Muslims who held the position of governors or delegates of the Moorish Kings in the old Taifa Kingdoms, highly feared, especially on the borders of Al-Andalus. From them they adopted the name and created a shield in which reigns the castle of Dénia, the crescent and the Mediterranean Sea.
