La Filà Almorávides It is one of the founders of the party Moors and Christians in Dénia. It belongs to the Moors, and currently make up its ranks twenty festeros whose dress is perhaps the most colorful pants with black and white vertical stripes, yellow shirt, purple sash and green vest.
History of FILA Almorávides
The year 1980 when a group of friends who love the Moors and Christians that took place Alcoi decided to try the party in Dénia. After participating in the first parade was held in August of that year, coinciding with the festivities in honor of Sant Roc, decided to create a row.
The name chosen, perhaps for their warrior spirit and his youth was almorávidesLinked to the final battle of Valencia tribe, where they were defeated by the troops of Mio Cid.
Almorávides came from North Africa and made holy war its main virtue. In the eleventh century they came to conquer all the peninsular kingdoms, recovering Muslim rule before the Christian advance. Already in the twelfth century it begins its progressive debilitaminto, until 1144 terminating their empire.
