"A fiasco that should have been avoided". This describes the result of the new Dénia bus station, an infrastructure that, in his opinion, presents a series of deficiencies in the facilities that affect comfort, information and, in the case of parking in the outer squares, security of the travelers.

The councilor of the dwelling in Dénia, Julio Palacios, regretted that the City Council did not want to attend to the numerous warnings in this regard, and that "Instead, they have authorized extra costs of 25.000 euros for a project that should not have been approved, which we have opposed. And they also ignore our proposal for a commission for monitoring and follow-up for public procurement ... So people we will always be paying the mistakes of our rulers ".

Failures at the bus station as we can

  • About the color: "The dark color of the building does not seem the most advisable for a climatic zone like Dénia, so the thermal insulation must be very important and will surely make the maintenance of the air conditioning more expensive."
  • About the box office: "The dimensions of the ticket office dedicated to the sale of tickets seem insufficient and could be improved by removing the door and placing it on the side of the container like the rest of the existing ones."
  • On solar conditioning: "For the permanence of waiting travelers, the absence of shadow-pergolas can be observed that could alleviate the stay of these hottest days without forgetting the creation of rain protection covers".
  • About urban furniture: "We miss a good illuminated clock located in the upper part of the central tower (...) The same can be said of the lack of street furniture such as benches, litter bins etc. Nor would a good informative panel with schedules and service companies. "
  • On the space to maneuver: "Solar with insufficient surface for parking maneuvers of buses, especially those of larger size, given the difficulty of turning vehicles." They also believe that "the internal docks should end with a rounded shape that facilitates the maneuvers of the
    vehicles".
  • About the bus parking: "The width of the parking areas of the 3.00 m vehicles is somewhat adjusted given the size of some buses and conditions the parking maneuver. The recommended would have been 3,50 m". They also claim that "the first two places next to the entrance are ridiculous and should not be counted within the necessary computation".
  • On the parking lot outside the station: "We do not find it advisable to use the parking spaces of large vehicles outside the site in front of the office building because of the danger posed by baggage handling in the area of ​​the bus bordering the road, especially if takes into account the heavy traffic during some market days ".
  • About the toilets: "They have a good design although they appear very delicate given the type of use they should provide".
  • About missing services: "You miss a left-luggage service, cafeteria and some small store selling magazines, a postbox and some telephones. For some authors, buses with trailers should have a parking lot that does not require the use of reverse gear".

    For many, many years, we have not had a bus station, buses were parked in a plaza.
    It never occurred to any past mayor to plan a bus station, now our current mayor has thought about it and has made a (provisional) station and now we complain ... we complain about everything ...
    Arguments can be made (as we can) and I believe that our mayor will take note and improve the things that are missing, but not poisonous critics.
    Our mayor is putting all his effort to improve Denia for everyone.

      Before the station was inaugurated and during the works, various sectors had already made, not criticisms, if not suggestions and calls for attention about the negative execution of the works, but they did not want to listen or attend. Now what are they going to do? If one hires a service from a company supposedly specialized in it and the execution is not up to the task, what do we say? Well, don't worry, next time you will do better ... no. We claim and do not pay until the work is done with the promised and agreed standards.

    But these politicians, who must be the best we have, "that's why we have voted for them, they are all still in their posts and they even smile, my face would fall ashamed. From this section and from the local and weekly newspaper «Marina Alta», I have asked them insistently for explanations and nobody gives them. They do not dare ? They do not know ? Are you ashamed of not having accepted Balearía's offer? Mare de Dèu, in mans de qui estem ???? If they had to pay for it out of their pocket, perhaps they would think about it, but of course, public money does not belong to anyone.
