A drowned man dies at Punta del Raset beach

19 September 2019 - 19: 35

After a relatively quiet summer in the beaches Dianenses, in the absence of days to finish the season, we must mourn a new death of a bather in the water. All efforts to save his life have been in vain.

It happened this afternoon, around 13:00 p.m., when some bathers warned on the beach Punta del Raset, at the height of the Oasis restaurant, the presence of a body floating near the 200-meter buoys. After raising the alarm, the Alicante Operations Center has contacted the Dénia Red Cross that, despite the fact that they did not have a surveillance and relief service on beaches until the weekend, has managed to gather in just minutes a team to be able to go out with a boat.

Until the place they have approached with an emergency vehicle and a jet ski, where the victim was already waiting for them on the shore, having been taken there by other users of the beach who were practicing resuscitation maneuvers. The Red Cross toilets have taken over and with the help of the defibrillator they have tried to bring the man back to life, until the SAMU has arrived who has taken charge of the situation.

Little has been done. Half an hour later they have decreed the death of the man of some 70 years who, according to witnesses, came from the north and would be at that time capturing octopus for the utensils he carried.
