Success in the conference on pandemic and culture organized by MACMA

The MACMA –Cultural Commonwealth of the Marina Alta– held last Friday, October 30, with the collaboration of the Ràfol d'Almúnia City Council as the venue for the initiative, the conferences Els reptes de la gestió cultural en temps de panèmia. Some days that were opened with the words of the Councilor for Culture of the Ràfol d'Almúnia, Josep Ochoa, as host of the meeting, and also of the president of the MACMA, José Ramiro, who valued the importance of the day "Taking into account the challenges of municipal management in such difficult times for the town councils of the Marina Alta".

Regarding the program of the conferences, they opened at 11.30 am with a first round table of cultural professionals under the title of Diagnosis and needs of the professional sector and where the actor, director and playwright Benisser Joan Nave, the editor Ondarenca Maite Aranda Morata, the plastic artist Deniera and Doctor of Fine Arts Imma, the musician and cultural entrepreneur from Beniarbegí Javier Gil Pérez and the actress from Pedreguer Marina Mulet y Gayà

The second round table was completed by technicians and municipal techniques of Culture and led by title Reality of cultural management with coronavirus. They took part Silvia Morató Mauri –programmer technician of the Jaume Pastor i Fluixà House of Culture of Calp–, Maribel Font Reus –technician and head of the Department of Culture of Dénia-, Xavier Ortolà -technician of the Municipal House of Culture de Pedreguer–, Vicent Buigues –Youth technician and head of exhibition spaces at Xàbia- and Vicen Mulet, technician at the Carme Miquel de Gata de Gorgos Municipal Public Library.

Likewise, the conference continued in the afternoon with the table of charges of the areas of culture headed by the motto Success stories and new proposals for Summer 2020 and where they spoke Aitor Llobell Sala - Councilor for Festivities, Youth and Communication of the Teulada City Council, Guillem Marhuenda Mas - Councilor for Culture, Heritage and Youth of the Orba City Council -, Rosa Lucía Pino - Councilor for Culture and Citizen Participation of the Benissa City Council -, Josep Ochoa Monzó –Culture Councilor of the Ràfol City Council and Director of the UA Headquarters of the Navy–, Ricard Pérez Ivars –manager of the Foundation Baleària- and Raquel Mengual Bisquert, Councilor for Culture and Equality of the Ondara City Council.

Finally, the last table was shared by health specialists and healthcare services from the region. Under the motto Covid-19 and health in municipal management, shared their professional vision Josep Bernabeu Mestre –Doctor in Medicine and professor of History of Science at the UA) -, Zeus Serrano Soler –faculty and member of the SAMU Marina Alta unit during the pandemic–, Àngela Garcia González –faculty and doctor of a rural medical office– and Eduardo de la Morena Valenzuela, doctor and president of the Red Cross in Dénia.

The conference was aimed mainly at political leaders and technical teams in the Culture area and it should be mentioned that, even after considering the circumstances and restrictions of the call, the venue's capacity was completed. During the four round tables, the current situation of COVID-19 and the consequent restrictions and adaptations that the pandemic framework has entailed for cultural professionals and programmers were addressed.

The meeting was also intended to be a meeting for common reflection to address the current situation from different witnesses and experiences and also facilitate interaction and contact between the different segments that work in the cultural field. In fact, the MACMA technical team provided the attendees with a bag of material from the companies and cultural proposals of the region to enhance the promotional and dissemination scope of the meeting.

Not in vain, in the framework of the day the new guides of infrastructures and cultural resources of the Marina Alta were also presented: two backbone documents on which the Mancomunidad has worked intensively. In short, a global project of regional reflection and participation that has been possible thanks to obtaining specific aid for the promotion of citizen participation and associationism from the Department of Participation, Transparency, Cooperation and Democratic Quality of the Generalitat Valenciana.
