Scam: The OMIC alerts of an attempted scam through a letter on behalf of Social Security

25 October 2021 - 13: 05

From the OMIC Dénia (Municipal Consumer Information Office) they report that in several municipalities the arrival of letters has been detected supplanting the image and identity of Social Security to private homes. The letter is false, since it is an attempt to swindle to obtain personal and banking information with the excuse of an alleged increase in pensions.

From the OMIC they point out that you should not provide any type of personal data by email if you are not completely sure of the source and the security of the communications. In the case of receiving a similar letter, you can inform the Local Police or the OMIC.

Appreciate the great work of the Omic technician, being alone in the department she has processed numerous complaints and has been able to help many users in their work,
