The Magazines and the Fundació Baleària They have prepared an extensive programme to commemorate Women's Month, with activities that highlight female talent and creativity through exhibitions, cultural and craft workshops and concerts. The poster has been designed by two women from Grao de Castellón Julia Badia and Gloria Esteve by the Bonavista Taller design studio. A poster that is a cry for women's freedom.
On March 8, International Women's Day, a celebration will be held live artistic intervention directed by artist Mariia Zhhurykova, where the large-format work will be created collectively Mediterranean Garden, with the participation of students from the artistic baccalaureate of the IES Historiador Chabàs. In the afternoon, the day will conclude with a concert by the group Spicy Cherries.
Throughout the month of March, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a diverse programme that pays tribute to women artists.
In the exhibition section, two shows stand out that make art visible in the feminine:
- Collective exhibition “Woman’s views”: an exhibition in which 14 female artists from the Balearic Islands, the Valencian Community and Ceuta participate. Organized annually by the Fundació Baleària and the Associació Art amb B, can be visited in the El Taller Túria Room from March 7 to 30.
- Exhibition “Mediterranean Portraits” by Mariia Zhurykova: A solo exhibition by the Ukrainian artist based in Xàbia, which will open on March 3 at the A la Fresca restaurant, offering a unique vision of portraits with vibrant colors, electric contrasts and the light of the Mediterranean.
In addition, they have been scheduled Two demonstrations of traditional crafts who will open the doors of the El Taller Túria Room to women's associations from the region of the Marina Alta, allowing them to show their know-how in traditional trades. A demonstration of can by Ana Seguí (De Palmes Barxes) and her students, who will teach us how to weave baskets and accessories with dried palm leaves. As well as an exhibition of bobbin lace led by Maria Rosa Soler from the Marina Alta Lace Makers Association who will show us how they weave lace and trimmings.
We will also have the opportunity to participate and learn in the creative workshops that will be taught by 3 women from the region. Almudena Pérez de Montatela will offer us a feminist embroidery workshopHenar Delgado from the Manuel Lattur Music School will introduce us to the prenatal singing and Ana Seguí from De Palmes Barxes will introduce us to the art of the Llata.
This programme has been designed to highlight women's traditions, art and creativity, and to create spaces for intergenerational learning and coexistence.
