The short film festival Riurau Film Festival it grows year after year, and in this 2019, when its eighth edition is celebrated, it incorporates a new venue for its projections. It has no riurau, but La Xara has an emblematic square, the Plaça del Cinema, which will host the Valencian short films of this edition.
This Tuesday morning, in the EATIM of La Xara, this new incorporation has been presented, with which the festival "close the Montgo", in the words of Anna Perles. And it is that La Xara joins Dénia like this, Xàbia and Jesús Pobre as the venues of the festival.
This year, the prize for the best short film in Valencian will amount to 600 euros, in addition to a trophy and a diploma, as explained by the mayor of EATIM; Maite Pérez Conejero.
Ramón Cardona, director of the festival, has manifested his "great? illusion to make region" and expand the possibilities of the festival. As a novelty this year, as explained by the person in charge of communication Isabel Bilbao, people will be brought in to the different sections of the festival so that, before each screening, they will give a short talk on the theme to be screened.
The screenings at La Xara will open the festival next August 23. They will continue the August 30 in the Great Riurau de Jesús Pobre; on September 6 and 7 in the Torrecremada de Dénia park; and will end on 13 and 14 days of September at the Riurau d'Arnauda de Xàbia. The deadline for the presentation of the pieces, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes, will remain open until the May 25.
