The PSPV Dénia will claim the autonomous port and the train to Gandia in the Socialist Provincial Congress

February 04 from 2022 - 10: 25

This weekend the 4th Provincial Congress of the PSPV-PSOE of Alicante, after the primaries in which the new provincial secretary was voted: Alejandro Soler. The meeting of the socialists from Alicante, which will take place on Saturday, will serve to name the new provincial executive. In addition, the framework paper will be presented and voted on, defining the objectives and lines of work of the executive for the next four years.

The PSPV-PSOE of Dénia will present four amendments to the paper to introduce some modifications that reinforce the interests of the city and the region of the Marina Alta, which will be defended by Paco Roselló y Javier Scotto.

In the chapter dedicated to the backbone infrastructures of the territory, from Dénia the addition of a new point is requested: the creation of the Dénia Puerto Autonomous Body and that it be guaranteed that the investments in maintenance and improvement of the port facilities, of the ports of competence region, are 40% of the amount of income, because the distribution of the collection is "equitable and fair among the ports of the Generalitat".

A second contribution in this sense from the local group refers to the so-called Tren de la Costa Alicante-València, to request that the project include the broad gauge connection of Dénia and the region with Oliva-Gandia-València, "and one, thus, by train the counties north of Alicante and south of València".

Another of the points that the conference framework paper will address is the demand for a more important role for public universities in the province "as an engine of knowledge and sustainable growth." The amendment presented by the PSPV-PSOE Dénia also claims the recognition of the backbone role of the future campus of the University of Alicante in Dénia, "since the north of Alicante is 100 km from the face-to-face universities". The Dianense campus project "is an example of the structure and approach of the University to territories that are far from public knowledge centers."

The fourth local contribution has to do with the defense of diversity and the rights of the LGTBI+ collective, to warn of the increase in diversiphobia, fueled by the extreme right; denounce the impoverishment of LGTBI+ municipal policies; and strengthen the position of the PSPV-PSOE of the province of Alicante in the face of institutional and social passivity and "assume the commitment to develop a necessary roadmap with sexual and gender diversity".

The 4th Provincial Congress of the PSPV-PSOE will be held on Saturday, February 5, and will attend as delegates of the local group: Vicent Grimalt, Paco Roselló, Maite Pérez, Cristina Morera and Javier Scotto.
