The next few days could be awarded the construction of the new school of La Xara. This was stated by the PSPV-PSOE this Tuesday afternoon, in the course of the first Open Door Day in which education was discussed.
According to the secretary of Education of the PSPV-PSOE of the Valencian Community, Inma Sánchez, the works of the new school, with a budget close to the 4 million euros, will be awarded in the coming days. It should be remembered that this new infrastructure will be carried out through the Edificant Plan of the Generalitat Valenciana.
During the day, Sánchez reviewed the projects contemplated in this plan that will be carried out in Dénia in addition to the school of La Xara. The change of windows in the Cervantes school with a budget of 164.000 euros, whose works are already practically finished; improvements in the facilities of the Pou de la Muntanya school and a new building for children's classrooms with a budget of 3,4 million euros; the reform of the cover and dining room of the Vessanes school with a budget of 405.000 euros; The reform of the roof and other actions in the school LLebeig with 265.000 euros; The adaptation of the dining room and solution of accessibility problems of the Pare Pere school in Jesús Pobre; the reform of the structure of the IES Historian Chabàs with a budget of 890.000 euros; and the adaptation and expansion of IES Maria Ibars with a budget of 2.8 million euros. In total, close to 11 million euros.
In addition to these investments, the PSOE has committed to execute the construction of the new building of the CEE Raquel Payá with a budget of around 4 million euros.
For his part, the mayor of Dénia and general secretary of the PSPV-PSOE, Vicent Grimalt, highlighted the points of the 2015 program that the socialists have been fulfilling from the municipal government in the three and a half years of corporate mandate: the completion of the works of the new library of the Casa de Sant Josep, the empowerment of the Municipal School Council, the best coordination and empowerment of the UNED as a benchmark for higher education in the Marina Alta and the promotion of scholarships for the most needy students, in addition to granting scholarships to UNED students with fewer resources.
