The Spanish Chamber of Commerce, in charge of managing part of the budget of the regional ERDF Community Funds for the period 2019-2023, has awarded the Dénia City Council a grant amounting to € 36.300 for the “Denia Marketplace” project, of which the The concession document highlights its character as a "singular project", in accordance with the terms of the call for aid aimed at the execution of digital transformation initiatives for commerce and crafts.

The “Denia Marketplace” project focuses on the creation of a local commerce marketplace, a digital sales platform that brings together different establishments in the city. The grant is half the planned tender cost of the project.

The idea was conceived during the harshest months of the pandemic and confinement, to offer an alternative to local commerce and a certain competitive advantage over large online sales platforms, proven, among other harmful effects of the situation derived from COVID -19, that 42% of the people surveyed for the drafting of the project had been affected at work by the crisis.

The objectives of the "Dénia Marketplace" project aims to offer an alternative means of selling to traditional commerce, expand its customer niche (by allowing online sales to increase the territory of action), give visibility to less digitized businesses and consolidate a channel of differentiation, in the digital field, of local commerce as a synonym of quality and proximity.
