The Blood Donation Marathon organized by the City Council of Dénia and the Alicante Transfusion Center reaches its eleventh edition with the aim and the illusion of getting new donors and that these are, above all, young people, from 20 to 40 years , that they take over and guarantee continuity to this solidarity and essential action to supply blood to the hospitals of the province.
The marathon will be held on Thursday, September 19, in the Social Center of Dénia, from 9: 45 to 14 hours and from 16: 45 to 21 hours, a morning and afternoon schedule “Thought to facilitate the largest influx of people possible”, as highlighted by the Councilor for Health, Cristina Morera.
In this sense, the posters prepared this year to disseminate the activity based its aesthetics and its messages on social networks, mostly used by a young audience, where there is no shortage of hashtags and emoticons.
On the part of the organization, both Cristina Morera and Mabel Ortiz de Salazar have stressed that this marathon of Dénia, one of the oldest in the province, wants to become a true celebration of solidarity and they have thanked both donors and donors. collaborators their involvement in the initiative.
The health director of the Department of Health of Dénia, Juan Cardona, wanted to highlight that the Dénia marathon is "A gesture of solidarity for all citizens, since the blood collected is distributed throughout the province." Eduardo de la Morena, president of the Red Cross Dénia, has expressed the satisfaction of the entity for collaborating in the initiative, which he has defined as “A social and health act of great relevance”.
The rest of the collaborators will contribute both in the dissemination of the activity and in the contribution of the gifts that will be distributed among the people who next September 19 come to donate to the Social Center of Dénia.
Morera has presented this new edition in the company of Mabel Ortiz de Salazar, head of the Hematology and Hemotherapy service at the Alicante Transfusion Center; Juan Cardona, healthcare director of the Dénia Health Department; Eduardo de la Morena, president of the local assembly of the Dénia Red Cross and Salvador Pérez Llorca, nurse from the Promotion and Hemodonation area of the Alicante Transfusion Center. The weekly Canfali also collaborates in this solidarity initiative Marina Alta, Radio Dénia SER, Appliances Pineda and the Fundació Baleària.
