The rowing team of the Real Club Náutico Dénia wins the XXXI rowing boat Santa Pola-Tabarca-Santa Pola

18 December 2018 - 09: 21

The rowing team of Real Club Nautico Denia has been proclaimed champion of the XXXI edition of the Santa Pola-Tabarca-Santa Pola rowing tour, the regatta with the greatest difficulty of the year.

The team was proclaimed champion with a difference of 18 seconds with respect to the second classified, the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante team. The third position was for the Sports Club Polytechnic University of Valencia.

In the first leg, with the wind in favor, the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante reached the walls of Tabarca in first position, with the Real Club Náutico Dénia following its slipstream a few meters away. After the tack, Félix Díaz, RCND helmsman, attempted several overtaking of the Club de Regatas boat without success.

In the absence of 3000 meters for the arrival, Diaz changed his strategy by opening wide to port and increasing the pace of shocks noticeably to get past the boat of the Race Club before the arrival. Finally, with seven minutes to finish the race, the RCND took the lead, proclaiming itself the champion of the regatta after a hard effort.

Falucho autonomic champions

The youth of the Real Club Náutico de Dénia also won the first position in the Autonomous Championship of Falucho, held last Saturday in Santa Pola. On the other hand, the young women were in third place.

Great triumph of the rowing section of RCND, with Juan Pina and Kostas Ruiz as coaches who have worked with great dedication to face these tough tests.
