"Today we comply with a historic claim of the world fester of the city presenting what will be the Espai Museu Fester de Dénia ". With these words from the party ruler, Óscar Mengual, began the press conference in which it was announced that the future Espai Fester will be located in the facilities that now occupy the Pou de la Muntanya children's center, known as El Rodat, on Alicante avenue. Before making the announcement, the Dénia City Council asked the opinion of the Fallas Assembly, made up of representatives of the Fallas commissions of Dénia and the Local Board Fallera, and the Federation of Moors and Christians (FEMMICC), who gladly accepted the proposal.
Both the vice president of the Fallera Local Board, Antonio Vargas, and the president of the FEMMICC, Jaime Ferrer, have made public their gratitude to the municipal government for responding to a long-standing claim and doing so in such difficult times for the world partying, so the news has come as a "blow of fresh air", in Ferrer's words.
The facilities of the future Espai Fester include a two-storey building, about 230 square meters each, the outdoor patios that surround it, as well as the adjoining children's playground. The idea is, as the mayor has indicated, Vicent Grimalt, create a space with an exhibition part of material related to the failures and the Moors and Christians and the rest, including the exterior areas, for other uses.
In this regard, the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, has indicated that “The space has many possibilities and, although we will not be able to start the remodeling until the children's units are moved to the new classroom to be built in Pou de la Muntanya, we are going to start working on the project, which it will be done in collaboration with party entities ".
Although no dates have been specified, it is expected that the new children's classroom in Pou will be completed by 2022 and the Espai Fester that the city council will give to the entities will be a reality during the first semester of 2023.
