The heart of Dénia is transformed: this will be the new Glorieta del País Valencià

29 December 2021 - 14: 48

The drafting of the redevelopment project of Glorieta del País Valencià and its surroundings, a work that has a budget close to one million euros, is nearing completion and at the beginning of 2022 the execution will be put out to tender.

As part of the project material, the Dénia City Council has a video where you can see the transformation of this emblematic place of the city, located in the heart of the city and which closes the Calle Marques de Campo, which will also be subject to certain improvement actions shortly to consolidate its closure to traffic.

The drafting and execution of the project is co-financed by the Alicante Provincial Council, within its Investment and Financing Plan for Infrastructures 2020-2023. For its part, the City Council has already announced that it will pay the corresponding part with the grant from the Next Generation funds recently confirmed for Dénia.

The redevelopment of the Glorieta del País Valencià and the surroundings, which includes the streets of Ramón y Cajal, Cop and the carreró de Morand, wants to value this historic space and reinforce the concept of the roundabout.

In the video you can see the final design, as a pedestrian space and a single platform, with the elements in height adapted to accessibility standards.

The new image maintains the elliptical geometry and expands the space dedicated to natural vegetation, which will be indigenous. The characteristic red tiles and the stone pavement of the central area, as well as the fountain, are also preserved.

I agree with everyone because there are many things to do and that they do not spend money on things that are not necessary, I hope that they read or listen to us, Dénia Town Hall Mayor, take a walk through this town Denia and you will realize everything or through the Rotas, Marinas open your eyes wide and don't waste money foolishly thank you

I do not understand that the roundabout has to be "reformed", it is fine as it is and other actions are more necessary in Denia. What a way to THROW OUR MONEY !!! it is time that they begin to explain how they spend the money that costs us so much to earn and the politicians so little to burn and squander. Is it really for our well-being? Or is it because of his brilliance and ambition

      Totally agree
      It's an abuse
We are in Camí de Corral de Calafat, one of the only three streets that lead to the Montgo with 30.000 homes, without being able to walk, or even drive, without public transport... and these spending on what is perfect and should not even be touched...
It is so as not to leave them a cent of a euro to administer...
      One more shame...
I think we should leave this town and leave it empty...
That it almost is in low season… so many empty houses… all a shame…
It is useless to protest... you only manage to take years off your life...
Someone will pay for it... that has to be paid... there is no doubt about that...
      by majority vote they say...
And if the majority are HIT?
      May nature protect us...

If it seems to you that a million euros is a budget to fix a square that is a symbol of Denia and its citizenship and that it is beautiful as it is, when so much social investment is needed with all the lack of work and poverty that the pandemic, it seems out of place and shameful more coming from a socialist mayor's office !! Are they not ashamed? They could have more social awareness with the population that does not need an arrangement of one million euros but investment in work and aid! Think about it, thanks

    Perfect Car
Meanwhile Ondara street will continue without lighting
Shame on others to continue with this situation
Dénia is life. But not like that

    • Marisa taroncher says:

It is very beautiful but just like my neighbors, there are other more urgent things, such as the garbage containers that there are still many to change in some streets is a shame.
You could start with this, for now it would be cheaper.
      Thank you

  7. Jacque says:

Wonderful looks. I do hope they have wheelchair access?

  8. Alice says:

I am glad that investments are being made, because I believe that the owners of apartments on the beach, we have contributed our taxes to these much needed improvements.
However, after thirty years as the owner, we have seen how they have
Increased urbanization, but the Las Marinas highway continues without sidewalks and with very poor lighting, being something so basic and necessary for the safety of pedestrians.

I hope that the City Council will give us some attention.

    Thank you very much

    • MIPB says:

I totally agree. We have been contributing for many years with our taxes and the investment always goes to them ... it will be that they go to their potential voters and not to their taxpayers ...
Cami de Llavador and Assagador de la Marjal area without sidewalks, poor lighting and flooded area every time two drops fall in Denia. NOW IT IS OK

    • Anton says:

Like the streets up to and in our neighborhood in Montgo. My god how awful the roads are up here. And pitch dark as well. Maybe 20 street lights with solarpower on Carrer Morer but only 3 or 4 are working. Like driving on a donkey road in Africa every day.

"La Glorieta". Much shorter and more beautiful.

  10. Hyginius says:

Valencia country, nothing at all, in case the politicians of Denia have not found out, it is the Valencian Community, dicks.
