With a program of a monthly concert, which will run until the month of May, the Dilluns amb Jazz is an initiative that has been quickly supported by the many fans that jazz has in Dénia and its surroundings, thanks to a program both nationally and internationally that is giving lovers of this music the opportunity to attend concerts outside the summer season, in which the Dénia Jazz Festival will take over the programming.
Fans have an unavoidable date next Monday, March 14, at 20:XNUMX p.m., at the Casa de Cultura, since Dilluns amb Jazz presents in concert one of the most important and renowned guitarists in the world, the American Howard Alden , which will start its Spanish tour in Dénia.
Alden has an impressive resume that could include recordings and concerts with jazz greats such as Benny Carter, Clark Terry, Woody Herman and a long list, as well as the authorship of the soundtrack of Woody Allen's film Agreements and Disagreements (Sweet and Lowdown, 1999), a film in which Alden's guitar has an absolute leading role.
He has also been artistic director of the Newport Jazz Festival, has performed on five continents, has a discography of more than 300 albums and a large number of prizes and awards, including best guitarist of the year 2003 for the American Guitar Society or the recognition of being among the 75 best guitarists in the world according to the legendary jazz publication DownBeat.
On this occasion, Alden will perform accompanied by the quintet co-led by the Californian trombonist Dan Barrett and the saxophonist from Alcoy, although already from Dian by adoption, Enric Peidro.
