The Raquel Payá CEE welcomes the first Erasmus students from the Cirus Vipava center in Slovenia

20 September 2022 - 17: 16

These days the CEE Raquel Payá from Dénia has received the first three host students in her first time as a recipient of students within the Erasmus program. The students, together with the five Slovenian special education teachers, have visited the Dénia town hall this morning, received by the Councilor for Culture, Raúl García de la ReinaAnd the Councilor for Education, Melani Ivars, together with the director of the CEE Raquel Paya, Miquel Ivars, and other personnel from the Dianense center.

The students of the Slovenian center Cirus Vipava, located in the Vipava valley (near the border with Italy), have been able to enjoy sensory stimulation activities, in addition to having experienced a complete immersion in the Valencian culture. The cultural activities have been aimed at discovering for students and teachers a culture that has turned out not to be so far from their own, as one of the Slovenian leaders commented during the event.

Last year the trip went in the opposite direction: four students and six instructors from Raquel Payá traveled to Slovenia. Previously, a visit had been made to learn how the Slovenian center is managed. Both centers try to learn from the functioning of other schools, in addition to offering their students the opportunity to learn about other cultures within the European framework. In the words of the director of Raquel Payá, "this is a very nice project for some students who would not normally go on an Erasmus program".

Cooking and tasting a paella or a catamaran trip to visit the marine reserve are some of the activities in which the Slovenian group will participate during this week.
