This morning, the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, With councilors Pepe Doménech, Beaches, and Javier Scotto, of Citizen Protection, have made the balance of damages caused in the town by the stormy glory and the maritime storm of last week.
Although they have warned that the figure is an approximate estimate, they confirm that they will continue unexpectedly, this amounts to more than 1.200.000 euros. This has been sent to the Subdelegation of Government so that today it is part of the points of the Council of Ministers, with the hope that they decide the contribution of aid to face the regeneration of Dénia.
Grimalt has pointed out that the figure "is not exaggerated" since luckily or unfortunately the city does not have a seafront promenade, in addition to the Marineta Cassiana, precisely in the area least affected by the storm.
Works to return to normal
The biggest work to be done is in terms of cleaning to return the beaches and their inlets to their places, especially on the coast of Marines, where the main entrances are almost open for next week to start work on the sand.
Of this figure presented to the Government, 262.000 euros are for the cleaning tasks in which they have required the hiring of two external companies since the workers were overwhelmed. To this is added 75.000 euros for the destruction of the Field Diego Mena and El Rodat, among others, 42.000 euros to repair or replace the damaged signaling, 120.000 euros in traffic lights and lighting, 40.000 euros for garbage removal, and a long etcetera between vials, trees and damage to municipal buildings.
Scotto thanks its work to workers and volunteers
Scotto, meanwhile, wanted to thank the work of the various security devices, underlining the work of Civil Protection and Red Cross volunteers who have been helping for 310 hours. The councilor has pointed out that part of the good work done is thanks to the forecast they had thanks to the 112 notice with which they were able to prepare the emergency device.
