The City Council agrees to reserve half of the places in the Occupation Plan for women

08 June 2020 - 18: 18

The City Council of Dénia announced this afternoon at a press conference the new Occupation Plan with which they seek to help families to rejoin the labor market through service provision contracts with continuous training.

Approximately 300.000 euros will go to people with this new plan, as explained by the City Council, which is 200.000 more than expected. "Aid that in itself is always necessary but that this year has increased" due to the health crisis, the councilor for Inclusive Policies has pointed out, Cristina Morera.

With this money, up to 22 people in vulnerable situations will be hired, who will work in different branches of the consistory with a contract until December 31. These people will receive specific training on the COVID-19 to carry out information tasks for the citizens, which, according to the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, they can do during the summer in the beach areas, but also cleaning, signaling, maintenance, among others.

To apply for these positions, those interested must be registered with Creama, the body in charge of managing the offers, before June 11, when the bases of these will be published.

A more inclusive and egalitarian Plan than ever

This is the most inclusive and egalitarian Employment Plan, as stated by the Councilor for Equality, Javier Scotto, since of these 22 places there will be 5 reserved for people of special vulnerability, derived from social services, and 2 for people with functional diversity.

Although it is intended to do with all of them, they have also ensured that the remaining 15 places will be totally equal, so that half of these must be occupied by women. In the event that two members of the same family unit are presented, access to women will also be prioritized.

In the same way, victims of male violence, but also victims of hate crimes and sexual discrimination will be taken into account in the selection.
