This morning the Dénia Gymnastics Club was received in the town hall of Dénia to celebrate its recent triumphs. Mayor, Vicent Grimalt, and the Councilor for Sports, Raul Garcia de la Reina, have met in the plenary hall of the consistory with the board, coaches and athletes.
The Dénia Gymnastics Club team has worn their medals obtained in the Spanish Championship played last month in Zaragoza, where the dianenses represented the Valencian Community. In this important event, the Senior team managed to take bronze in Sets, and the alevín Sofía Cortí was proclaimed runner-up of Spain in clubs within her category.
Both Grimalt and Garcia de la Reina have congratulated the gymnasts for the triumphs, thanking that they took the name of Dénia throughout the State. In addition, the mayor has declared that "It is a pleasure to see such small girls loaded with medals".
From the club, they have been grateful for the treatment of the Government during this time, although they remind them that they are still waiting for the creation of a new sports center where they can train.
