The Alicante Provincial Council has carried out today a Focus Group with political representatives and municipal technicians of the province to address aspects related to transparency and data protection in public administration.
Communicative effectiveness, data protection, how to anonymize or the design and organization of the contents of municipal websites and their relationship with transparency portals are some of the aspects that focus on this day, which is attended by representatives of the city councils of Alcoi, Alicante, Benidorm, Callosa de Segura, Dénia, Elche, Gata de Gorgos, Mutxamel, Orihuela, Santa Pola and Xixona.
«It is important to generate a network of knowledge in the province that allows us to find solutions to the difficulties that arise. For this reason, from the Provincial Council we are going to promote the Participatory Governance Network, a forum in which we can all grow and meet the objectives set by the law," said the deputy responsible for the area, Cristina García Garri, who has been the responsible for opening this session. "We are convinced that establishing effective alliances is the most effective way to solve the problems that affect us all," she added.
During the session, the different actions, programs and calls for aid that the Provincial Council promotes throughout the year to collaborate with the Alicante municipalities in matters of transparency, citizen participation and good governance were also reviewed.
In addition to the deputy Cristina García Garri, the session includes the intervention of the head of the Transparency service of the provincial institution, Toni Canet, and the members of the Infoparticipa project, Marta Corcoy and Justo Casenave.
«Reflection groups like this one, in which political leaders and technical staff participate, provide us with individual points of view and allow us to see first-hand successful or efficient proposals, depending on the resources of each local entity. Likewise, these forums help us direct promotion and technical assistance actions in the right direction to provide solutions and make our institutions a benchmark, not only in compliance, but also in transparency and good governance," the deputy concluded.
