Dénia City Council hires ten unemployed young people for a year

15 September 2022 - 12: 42

Dénia City Council has hired ten unemployed people under the age of 30 thanks to the award of a subsidy from the EMPUJU 2022 program to promote employment in Labora, which has been managed by Creama-Dénia. The subsidized amount amounts to a total of 120.005,56 euros, which will be used to defray part of the salary and social security costs of young people, who will be hired full-time for a period of 12 months.

Workplaces that they will occupy in the town hall

The people hired will occupy the following positions: 7 administrative assistants who will work in the departments of Protocol, Social Welfare, the Citizen Service Office, the Strategies Office, the Local Police, the residence for the elderly and the Municipal Market; 1 laundry assistant; 1 journalist and 1 computer scientist.

The objective of this subsidy is to offer a job opportunity to young people in local entities in order to improve employment and facilitate the acquisition of work experience in the field of their training. This EMPUJU program is included in the Avalem Experiència Plus project of the Generalitat Valenciana and is co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF).

EXPLUS 2022 Grant

On the other hand, on August 2, eleven unemployed people, with a minimum age of 30, joined the Dénia City Council to work, by virtue of another subsidy from Labora Valencian Employment and Training Service, also managed by Creama- Denia.

This subsidy amounts to a total of 211.000 euros that will be used to finance part of the wage costs of workers. Hiring is full-time for a period of 12 months.

This action is part of the Avalamos Experience Plus plan, it is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus and its purpose is to grant subsidies for the hiring, by local corporations of the Valencian Community, of unemployed people who are at least 30 years of age, to improve access to employment for long-term unemployed people and the most disadvantaged groups.

It is good that there is no discrimination based on gender and the person's curriculum is valued, regardless of whether they are male or female. Or do you think it's better to hire five men and five women regardless of whether they are worth it or not? Perhaps the candidates were mostly men!

Was the grant just to hire young men? Doesn't seem very fair...

You're right. As if they were all women. They are what they are and surely no one has looked at anyone's sex.
What is sad is that there are people who think that equality has to be imposed on equity. That would be grossly unfair.
