Dispute between the PSPV and the PP for the responsibility of a sentence that will cost Dénia 3 million euros

May 16 from 2023 - 09: 51

A sentence that condemns the Dénia City Council to pay almost 3 million euros has shaken the electoral campaign. The Superior Court of Justice has been the one who has handed down the sentence for a non-payment for 4 years to a woman who was acquired a field of 35.000 square meters. The condemnation, as you can imagine, comes at the worst moment, with the formations in the middle of the campaign. He PP has been quick to point out and criticize the "mismanagement" of the PSPV, governors during this legislature. However, the socialists have responded by accusing the popular of having been responsible for this mess. The controversy is served.

Everything exploded with the publication of the newspaper TodoAlicante in which they reported the sentence and pointed to the government of Vicent Grimalt as directly responsible for this fine that will now cost 2.700.000 euros, plus legal interest, to the municipal coffers. According to the publication, the land located next to the greenway that was going to be destined for the project bancalet, a space to grow zero kilometer products, was acquired for 676.000 euros in its day. Well, rather than acquired, said exchange was agreed. But, according to TodoAlicante, for 4 years they did not take charge of facing the financial outlay, so the owner asked that the plots be returned to her.

The City Council did not return them, and did not pay either, says the Alicante newspaper, for which the TSJ intervened to compensate the owner for the alleged expropriation. Due to the lethargy for not paying at the time, the 676.000 euros became 2.700.000, plus legal costs.

Font points to Grimalt

This campaign news is very juicy, and the Popular Party, one of the forces most likely to complicate things for the PSPV on 28M, hastened to wield it in order to expose its main rival.

"The mismanagement of the Dénia City Council will make citizens pay almost 3 million euros for land of 35.000 m2." This was the headline of the statement issued to the press, a quote from the candidate Pepa Font that left no doubts when it came to pointing out the alleged perpetrator.

Font claimed to regret the sentence that the residents would have to pay, indicating that it was due to "mismanagement by the Dénia City Council and its manager, the mayor Vicent Grimalt, who should give explanations to the Dianense citizens."

the socialist version

What he surely did not expect was the turn of events that caused an article also issued by the PSPV to the press, in which they not only denied being responsible, but also pointed to Pepa Font herself as the main culprit: «In 2011 he signed a resolution to try to hide 'under the rug' the expropriation request of the owner of the plots for which the City Council now has to pay 3 million.

According to the Socialists, the lawsuit began in 2011, with Pepa Font being the Councilor for Planning and Ana Kringe, the popular mayoress of the moment. That is to say, that it would not be a thing of now as has been published in the press and Font has insisted. The PSPV emphasizes that the expropriation was presented that summer of 2011 and, in view of the lack of municipal response, the interested party insisted in November asking the City Council for a certificate of administrative silence and the intervention of the Provincial Expropriation Jury to determine the just price.

«In December of that same year [2011], the Councilor for Planning, Pepa Font, signed a resolution agreeing not to issue a certificate of positive silence and to suspend the procedure. And the obvious replacement appeal of the owner was inadmissible by resolution of the mayoress, "the socialists communicate. "From here, the judicial journey continued until the final judgment of the TSJ of 2014 that annulled the resolutions of Font and Kringe and ordered the city council to present a proposal for the acquisition of the land by mutual agreement and, in case of disagreement, leave the decision in the hands of the Expropriation Jury, which finally valued at 676.000 euros, to be paid by the consistory, the land that thus became municipal ownership.

The payment was liquidated in 2019 by the PSPV government, as this newspaper has been able to corroborate, to launch the project mentioned at the beginning of this news item. “However, the property appealed again and we reached the new TSJ ruling of March 2023, which raises the valuation of the plots to approximately 3 million euros (the initial request, from 2011, valued them at 17 million ) when addressing the reasons of the property regarding the type of crop and method of capitalization of income».

According to the PSPV, all this is nothing more than "the poisoned inheritance of an inept government, the pentapartite of the Kringe-Font tandem, which in its eagerness to legitimize itself after a motion of censure with a defector included, tried to sell an idyllic image of its action hiding everything that could tarnish it».

The challenge of the PP

The accusations have caught Pepa Font's formation by surprise. And the popular has not limited itself to denying them, but has urged the socialist candidate to go to court if what he indicates is true. «I challenge Vicent Grimalt to go to court if he has a crime to accuse me of. In the meantime, stop slandering for free."

Useless bunch, one blames the other. If it had gone well, they would wear medals and take many photos. If they screw up, no one assumes responsibilities, they only know the "and you more", like primary school children.

Do they stick to pay? How responsible!! That they pay half of the money from the box of their corresponding parties.

    As usual.
You screw up and then blame yourself.
They seem to be having fun.
From the Popular Democratic Front we propose the implementation of a "citizens web" for the vote by the inhabitants of Dénia of what is voted in the town hall.
Because it is necessary to refound the country.
Spain has to be the United Democratic Federation of Spanish Popular Republics.

But if they already do it and look at the result...
