The owner of two dogs in serious state of malnutrition due to animal abuse is detained in Dénia

Agents of the National Police have arrested in Dénia the owner of two dogs for allegedly committing a crime of animal abuse.

The events took place at the beginning of the 26 day in March, when a neighbor from the area informed the Animal Protection Association of Dénia, the serious state of malnutrition presented by a dog that was wandering in the street.

Members of the Protective Association went to the right place, finding the dog there in such a state of malnutrition that he could hardly move, so he was quickly transferred to a local veterinary clinic.

A few hours later, another call from another neighbor in the area indicated in his call to have found a dog in the vicinity of his home in a terrible condition, so again members of the same Association came to the place to collect and transfer the animal to the veterinary clinic due to its serious state of health.

When checking the chip number that both dogs carried, the agents found out the affiliation of their owner, so during the afternoon of yesterday they proceeded to arrest him, for allegedly committing a crime of animal abuse.

The dogs, female and male of the breed pointer, continue with their recovery under the care of specialized personnel of the Animal Protection Association of Dénia.

The detainee, a Spaniard from 49 years, was released on charges after he had testified in the offices of the National Police of Dénia.
