Defeat of the DBC Women's team in their visit to the regional champion

11 2025 April - 08: 00

The Senior Women's Autonomous team of Dénia Básquet Club fell this weekend in their visit to CBI Elche by 68 to 40 in a match corresponding to Group B of the regular season. The match, played on one of the most demanding courts in the championship, pitted the Juan Luis Pérez with the current champions of the Autonomous Cup, who share the lead in the standings.

The Dianense team started the match very focused, with accuracy on offense and great work on the defensive rebound against a physically superior opponent. The match remained even for much of the first half, during which DBC played its best moments. Only in the closing stages of the second quarter did the home team manage to open a small gap, reaching the break with a five-point lead (33-28).

After the restart, the Elche team increased the pace of play and took the match to a more physical level. This strategy ultimately wore down the visitors, who were unable to maintain the level of offensive accuracy they had displayed in the first half. The deficit progressively grew until the final score of 68-40, which didn't accurately reflect the effort and the good performance put forth by DBC.

The team's next match will be on Sunday at 16:30 p.m. in Benidorm, against a team pushing for promotion to the National Division.

Convincing victory for the DBC Senior Men in Genovés (31-74)

The Dénia Básquet Club's First Division Senior Men's team achieved its fourth consecutive victory this weekend, defeating CB Genovés 31-74 on the road. This result allowed Carlos Vila's team to match its best run of the season and consolidate its fifth place in its group.

From the opening minutes of the match, DBC imposed a high level of defense, leading to numerous turnovers by the home team. These situations were exploited with quick transitions that progressively increased their lead. Perimeter shooting was also key, with the visiting team scoring a total of 11 three-pointers.

At halftime, Dénia already dominated the match with a 19-point lead (18-37). Far from relaxing, the team returned to the court, maintaining their focus, aware of the difficulty of playing on a historically difficult court. The second half continued under Dénia's control, with their lead barely in danger, except at the start of the final quarter.

The DBC will close the season at home this Saturday at 17:00 p.m. at the Joan Fuster pavilion, hosting CB Oliva, a team fighting to avoid relegation. After the Easter break, Vila's team will travel to Algemesí for the final match of the championship.
