Dénia is once again one of the most demanded destinations of the Travel Bonus

May 28 from 2021 - 09: 29

Turisme Comunitat Valenciana records so far this year a total of 16.198 reservations made through the Travel Voucher, which correspond to the second period of the 'Viatgem CV' program, which ends on June 15, 2021. The most popular destinations are Benidorm , Calp, Altea, Finestrat, Peñíscola, València, Xàbia, Elx, Dénia and Oropesa del Mar.

Of these, for the first fortnight of next June, about 3.000 reservations have been registered, a result that, according to the regional secretary for Tourism, Francesc Colomer, "reflects the pulse that tourism is taking for the summer season", which augurs "to achieve positive figures that will allow the Valencian Community's tourism sector to re-emerge".

The destinations most in demand by users of the Travel Voucher for this month of June are, for the most part, sun and beach in the province of Alicante: Benidorm, Calp, Altea, Finestrat, Jávea and Elche; from the province of Castellón, the most demanded are Peñíscola and Oropesa del Mar, and from the province of Valencia, the city of Valencia.

Colomer wanted to highlight positive aspects of the program, such as that "more than 55% of the stays take place outside the weekend" and, although he confirms that a good part of the subsidized spending is concentrated on the accommodation service, "there is an increasing demand for other services, such as hospitality, excursions, active tourism, health, sports and culture ".

In this line, he pointed out that "the Travel Voucher program has contributed to keeping open part of our experiential offer, configured through CreaTurisme, which distinguishes us as a destination that lives all year round, attractive, diverse, inclusive and of quality" .

Likewise, he also wanted to emphasize that "Turisme is paying in an average payment period of less than 7 days from the time the company participating in the program presents the justification of the expense made by the user of the voucher". Currently, the program has 1.450 member companies, 620 from the province of Alicante; 588 in the province of Valencia and 242 in the province of Castellón.

As Francesc Colomer has advanced, "during this second period of the 'Viatgem Comunitat Valenciana' program we have distributed a total of 22.323 vouchers and we have a waiting list of more than 65.000 people".

Beneficiaries, average stay and member companies

According to the data managed by Turisme CV to date, the more than 16.000 reservations will benefit more than 48.000 people residing in the Valencian Community. This figure responds to the general average of three people per travel reservation. Remember that the minimum travel group required by the voucher is two people.

In addition, the average stay exceeds three nights in all types of accommodation, being much higher in campsites, which reaches an average of twelve nights, or in tourist homes, which exceeds six. For hotels, the average stay is close to five nights. In the same way, more than 55% of the users of this travel voucher make stays outside the weekend, which represents a significant revitalization of the tourism sector.

The most popular type of accommodation is the hotel, with about 78% of the total reservations, followed by rural accommodation, which accounts for about 10% of all reservations, and campsites, with 8%. In addition, about 40% of users make their reservations through travel agencies.

Deadlines and operation of the waiting list

The discount voucher entails a reduction of 70% to travel through the CV, with the aim of stimulating internal tourist demand in periods of seasonality due to the negative socio-economic effects caused by COVID-19.

This second period of the Viatgem CV program was launched on January 1 and will be in force until June 15 through the platform see here.

It should be remembered that each Travel Voucher issued by Turisme supposes a credit reserve of 600 euros, in the event that the reservation is not formalized within 7 days or the maximum amount is not exhausted when applying the 70% discount, the more codes are released and more bonuses are awarded in order of the waiting list. At the moment, the waiting list goes to number 22.324.

The program is endowed with 12 million euros for the two periods of 2021: from January 1 to June 15 and from September 15 to December 31. In 2020 the allocation was 5 million euros, so the total program now amounts to 17 million euros.

So many people who need public aid to be able to live and here giving money for parties.

Why is the same not being done for all businesses, companies, sectors that are suffering economic losses with the Pandemic? Is the hospitality only suffering? Well, no, but the rest are looking for life as best they can. This Travel Bonus smells like a beach bar for a few to divert public money to their pockets taking advantage of the situation. Always the same.
