The Department of Tourism of the Ajuntament de Dénia has been present at the tourism fair Expovacaciones which has taken place from the 10 to the 12 in May in the city of Bilbao.
From the stand Dénia Tourism, located in the macro-site of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, has had the opportunity to promote the destination by bringing its varied offer to the visitor in order to retain the tourist of the Basque Country, territory that is configured as one of the main national emitting markets for many years, together with Catalonia, Madrid and the rest of the Valencian Community.
Due to the existence of direct flights Bilbao-Alicante of several low cost airlines and Dénia being a destination with tourist resources and products of interest to the visitor of the Basque Country (such as the varied cuisine, sun and beach, nature, etc. ), our city becomes a destination highly valued by the public of the Basque autonomous community.
Regarding the profile of the visitor to the event, it has been primarily that of people who had references about our destination, either by third parties or by having visited nearby destinations, who wanted to know the tourist resources of the municipality: beaches, natural environments, excursions through Dénia and its surroundings, etc., either for summer holidays or for getaways throughout the year. Many of the visitors had previously visited Dénia and were interested in repeating their stay in the city.
The evaluation of the attendance to the event has been very positive due to the good location of the stand of Dénia inside the fair, the interest that the visitor has shown for the destination and the great affluence to the event, which has gone up in this edition in comparison to the last years.
