Dénia launches new consumer bonds to encourage commercial activity

August 19 from 2022 - 09: 43

Starting in September, the citizens of Dénia will be able to benefit from a new economic and commercial revitalization initiative: the 'Consumption Bonus', a 'cheque' worth 40 euros, of which the Dénia City Council subsidizes half, 20 euros; in other words, the clientele will acquire a voucher for the price of 20 euros that can be exchanged at local businesses for purchases of up to 40 euros.

The council will issue 9.622 bonds that can be spent in the period between September 10 and 25, 2022. The initiative has the dual objective of contributing to the reestablishment of the commercial activity of the city and at the same time helping families to overcome the economic situation.

To start it up, the city council has a subsidy from the Diputación de Alicante, included in the line of aid for campaigns to promote consumption, of 192.443 euros.

How do commercial establishments have to adhere?

All commercial activities in the municipality of Dénia can be added to the campaign, except tobacco sales establishments, supermarkets, gas stations, pharmacies, 'flea market' stalls, hotels, recreational and lottery administrations, betting and other games of chance.

The bases of the call establish that the number of people employed will not exceed 10 full-time workers or equivalent and the establishment must be up to date with tax obligations with the state and municipal treasury and with Social Security.

Interested businesses have to apply for membership until August 22, 2022, through the electronic headquarters of the Dénia City Council here.

Instructions for clients

To acquire one of the vouchers, you must register at the platform (offer limited to one voucher per person).

People over 18 years of age registered in Dénia can benefit from this initiative. The vouchers can be exchanged at the establishments in the city that have joined the campaign.

The Jesús Pobre and Xara EATIMs will soon launch their respective consumer voucher campaigns.

  1. Ana Pastor Torres says:

When is the deadline for the client to register at bonsconsum.denia.es?
And what data would be required?
In my opinion they are details that the client should know.

    • Luis says:

But what don't tourists buy? Don't we "live off tourism"? Aren't all the stores full of consumers spending for vacations? So what is the point of these "coupons"? For the people who live here? Are they charity?

  2. Luis says:

If on top of that they are attracting tourism that does not consume anything, what do they expect? They neither buy in stores, nor go to restaurants, bars or clubs. They rent apartments and houses without tourist licenses and eat the food they bring from home in their cars. Is that generating wealth and jobs? Well no.
