Dénia closes the 2022 budgets with a remainder of 26 million and a debt of 18,8 million

29 March 2023 - 17: 10

The Dénia City Council has rendered accounts today to explain the closing of the budgets for the 2022 financial year. For this, the Councilor for the Treasury, Paco Roselló, and the councilor for Commerce and Occupation Policies, Sandra GertrudixThey have appeared to make the pertinent explanations.

The settlement of accounts, which passed through the information commission on March 27, presents a surplus in its result of 15.190.201 euros and a treasury remainder of 26 million. In addition, the mayor has exposed the evolution of public debt since 2014 to highlight the difference between the 35 million debt of 2014 and the 18,8 million of 2022. In the same way, he has commented on the change in the average periods payment, where it has gone from an average of 84 days in 2014 to 16,91 in 2022.

Roselló has described the evolution of the accounts as positive, highlighting the 365 major contracts tendered, which would be equivalent, according to his words, to an average of 2 or 3 tenders per week. This translates, according to the mayor, to go from the estimated cost of 28,7 million to the 5,7 million finally spent, since "the tender leads to cost savings." Delay interest has also been on the decline, which has fallen to 69.000 euros compared to the initial estimate of 300.000 euros.

The person in charge of the Treasury portfolio wanted to express the good state of the accounts, stating that requesting a loan of 2,7 million was rejected "because it was not necessary due to the treasury we had." In the same way, he wanted to comment on the weight of court rulings on the council debt, a figure that was 19,3 million in 2020.

For her part, Gertrudix wanted to value the number of contracts that have been made during the legislature. The councilor defines the incorporation of more than 185 people thanks to the hiring plans financed by the city council, by external subsidies or co-financed as "an investment and not an expense".

Increased tax collection

At the same time, Roselló has highlighted the increase in tax collection such as capital gains, which has gone from 1,8 million to 2,1, or the ICIO, which has gone from 1,9 million to 3. Regarding the licenses, it has been explained that the urban planning ones have risen from 1,2 million to 1,5 million, while the opening ones have risen from 5.000 euros to 85.000; this "due to the streamlining of procedures", in the words of Roselló.

18 million owes the Dénia City Council.
    And Compromis wants independence?
    And if not the Catalans.
    They hallucinate.
And what little money there is is spent on bullshit.
    Really, go City Hall!
Dénia is the most beautiful town in Spain.
    And he doesn't deserve this.
It deserves a Bus Station in Miguel Hernández, a Shopping Center in the trenet parking lot, an Auditorium Theater where they want to do the "Gent de la Mar" and the Fester museum in the Casa de la Duquesa.
That is what we propose from the Democratic Left.
We are a party that defends the Democratic Republic.
