Dénia will help families at risk of social exclusion with water bills

January 27 from 2023 - 12: 00

The ordinary plenary session of January held yesterday unanimously approved the agreement between the Consistory and Aqualia, a concessionaire company for the water management service in Dénia, for the creation of a social fund of 20.000 euros in order to help pay water receipts to families in situations of social and economic vulnerability. Likewise, the social fund may be used to pay for supply registrations. The duration of the agreement will be one year from the signing of both parties.

The agreement establishes a management protocol for the application of the social fund that works as follows: Social Services, given the list of unpaid debts that Aqualia sends monthly, will determine, after studying the cases, the receipts to be paid through the social fund and will notify the concessionaire of the contract data so that the pending amount is paid with the social fund. Aqualia, for its part, must inform the town hall each time it applies the payment of any pending invoice to this fund so that the Social Services can keep track of the cases.

Primary care support

In the January plenary session, a motion in support of primary care arose from the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Dénia and drafted with the contributions of different political groups of the Corporation has also been unanimously approved.

The text points to a "deficit structural situation" of primary care, a scenario that Covid-19 worsened, with "closed or overflowing agendas, appointments with a delay of two weeks, days without consultation, long waits, or collapsed emergency services ”, in addition to “the escape of medical and health equipment”.

Thus, the Conselleria de Sanidad Universal y Salud Pública is asked to require the concessionaire of the department of health of the Marina Alta “The provision of the primary care service with the minimum standards of proximity, accessibility, attention, ratio, reduction of waiting lists, delays in appointments, and emergency care, carrying out the obligatory work of surveillance, control and compliance with the primary care service. primary care in that health department.”

The text of the motion appeals directly to the concessionary company to request that primary care be "a quality service and equal conditions for access." It is requested to prioritize personal care for the most vulnerable groups and those affected by the digital divide, such as the elderly, by hiring medical personnel and the necessary health personnel.

On the other hand, support is also requested for the Basic Zone Health Councils to democratize their governance with the participation of citizens, professionals and town halls to improve management and community health through prevention and health education programs and activities. .

Taxi service improvement

In the session, the approval of the motion to improve the taxi service in Denia was also unanimously agreed. The text includes 7 measures, such as the commitment to hold three exams to obtain the taxi professional training certificate, the creation of eight new taxi licenses with vehicles adapted to functional diversity, the authorization for the service to be reinforced in taxis from other municipalities in the Marina Alta during the periods of greatest influx such as summer and Easter, the creation of a coordinated work calendar that includes an annual permanent duty service and the digitization of the taxi service in the form of a mobile application.

In addition, an eighth point was added that establishes that within a week the city council agrees to meet with the taxi associations to agree on the implementation of the points of the motion.

Bonus in the ICIO

The plenary session unanimously approved declaring the construction of a MasyMas supermarket area on Calle Corona Boreal "of special municipal interest" for the promotion of occupation and, therefore, granting the company Juan Fornés Fornés SA a 50% discount on the ICIO (tax on constructions, installations and works) of the work.

This ICIO discount is based on different measures to promote employment in the municipality to which the company promoting the work is committed. On the one hand, 5 or more jobs will be created in the new commercial area, with indefinite and full-time contracts. The largest number of people hired will be women and more than half of the workers hired will be registered, with a minimum of two years seniority in Dénia, la Xara or Jesús Pobre.

In addition, at least 3 of the people hired will belong to groups of people with special difficulties in accessing the labor market, specifically, registered people under 30 or over 50 or long-term unemployed.

New concession of the old fish market

Before the administrative concession of the building of the old Dénia fish market expired in November 2022, the city council approved in the plenary session of May last year to request an extension of the concession from the Ministry of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility .

However, the General Directorate of Ports informed the council that an extension was not in order, according to the Ports Law, but a new request for a concession to manage the building, which currently houses the city's Museum of the Sea.

That is why the plenary approved yesterday the withdrawal of the request for extension of the administrative concession of the old fish market and, instead, request the administrative concession of the building, which the city council has managed since 2012, for a period of 30 years. Both points were unanimously approved.

Representation at the MACMA

Also unanimously, the municipal Corporation has agreed to the new representation of the Consistory in the Marina Alta Regional Commonwealth (MACMA). The representation between 2021 and 2022 was made up of the councilors of Culture, Raúl García de la Reina, and Youth, Juan Sapena.

In 2022, the entity modified its status to integrate the mayors of the member municipalities into the plenary session; In addition, the number of representatives per town hall attends to the population, corresponding to Denia three.
Now, for the 2023 financial year, the mayor, Vicent Grimalt; the Councilor for Education, Inclusive Policies and Social Welfare, Melani Ivars and the Councilors for Culture and Sports and for Youth.
