Dénia increases its drinking water storage capacity with an investment of almost 3.5 million euros

30 March 2023 - 09: 59

The Dénia Water Administration Council has approved the construction of a regulation tank in Benimaquia and the necessary distribution networks with the aim of expanding the drinking water storage capacity in the municipality. Aqualia, the service concessionaire, will allocate an investment of 3.494.654,34 euros to this action.

Mayor, Vicent Grimalt, has explained that «a municipality of the size of Dénia needs at least 24 hours of effective water reserve in case there were any supply problems. Currently, the reservation time in the city and in Marines it is just over 3 hours, hence the importance of this project that Aqualia will begin to develop shortly”.

In addition, this action will increase the water pressure in the city and in the Montgó area. It will also mean a significant improvement in energy efficiency, since production hours can be adjusted to the periods with lower electricity rates.

And why don't they make a desalination plant?
    Denia has almost 50.000 inhabitants.
And we have the sea for something.
Really, either they kick Grimalt out of the council or we're going to regret it.
We need a council that makes good use of the space and that builds infrastructures such as the following:
A Bus Station in Miguel Hernández, a Municipal Cinema in Campos Street, an Auditorium Theater and Shipyards in the port, a Dock for medium and small Cruise Ships, a Shopping Center in the trenet parking lot, a Boulevard in La Vía Street... …
    Propose ideas:
The Mercabono to buy in Denia stores with discounts and thus promote Commerce, the Expo-Denia (a fair with discounts in museums, festive shows, culinary and gastronomic exhibition, theatres, music, etc).....
From my party (Democratic Left), I propose this.
I do know how to use spaces.

Well, I support these proposals except for the bus station in the center of the city.
It cannot be that Denia has a Trenet train station, a bus station, a sea station and hopefully another train station, if it is finally achieved.
Today, intermodal stations (interchanges) are advocated.
I think it should be installed where the Balearia Maritime Station and shuttles that facilitate travel. It is painful to see, now tourists pulling their suitcases up the street and down the street. The fact is that Balearia offered its facilities and its docks, but the City Council preferred to waste money on a totally inoperative bus station. Some day we will find out.
