Dénia will end a "historical problem of leaks and bad smells" by expanding the sanitation network

29 September 2021 - 12: 21

Aguas de Dénia, a mixed company in charge of the municipal supply service in which the Dénia and Aqualia City Council participate, has begun the expansion works of the municipal urban sanitation network in the vicinity of Benicadim street.

These works, included in the Sewerage Improvement Plan, will end a historical problem of leaks and odor problems, in a protected environment such as this area, adjacent to the Castell wall. For this reason, in addition, being an action that is carried out in a sensitive environment, an archaeological advisory service will supervise the works throughout their duration.

In total, 230 m of new sewage pipes will be installed on Benicadim street and the water will be redirected to the Ronda de les Muralles general collector. The investment is € 118.972,94 and Aqualia estimates that the execution period will be 6 weeks.

This action seeks to solve the problems of evacuation of the wastewater in the area, which leaked into the subsoil due to the poor state of the infrastructure and caused inconvenience to the residents of the nearby areas.
