C's claims to extend the urban mobility project to other points in Dénia

05 October 2020 - 11: 31

The Citizens-Dénia group has presented various allegations to the Urban Mobility project that the Government team has presented to the different opposition parties. Susana Mut, spokesperson for Grupo Ciudadanos in the Dénia Town Hall, highlights that, “It is a not very ambitious project, which leaves out the nerve centers of the city, such as the Municipal Market, the Health Center, the Municipal Sports Center, the Cemetery or the IES Sorts del Mar. Furthermore, it does not take into account La Xara, that due to its proximity to hospital Comarcal, which already has its own line, could have a stop so that its neighbors would not have to use their vehicle in the event that they wanted to travel to Dénia. Another point that he leaves out is the Marina de Denia, which is becoming an important point in the city for its events and its commercial and hotel offer ”.

Estefanía Schwamb, councilor of the Municipal group citizens DéniaHe comments on his surprise when the mayor met with the residents of the associations affected by the closure of Marques de Campo street and told them that a bus line would be set up across the street, providing service to citizens. "This stop is not contemplated in the project that the opposition parties have presented to us and if they have accepted the proposal that we have made from Ciudadanos, it was not difficult to tell us and not find out from the media", says the mayor.

Main changes of C's to the draft of the Urban Draft of Dénia

1. Creation of a center line with service to the oldest population areas and access to the market and health center: The Population Structure report indicates that the oldest population is in the neighborhoods of Baix La Mar and Puerto Centro, with about 20%. This data suggests that these areas should have some type of transport service, facilitating their daily trips to different points of interest in the city, such as the Municipal Market, the Health Center in Joan Fuster, since the Future Health Center in Miguel Hernández has no prospect of being built in the short or medium term. In the new circular route, there are no stops at these essential points for people over 65, potential users of the Line. In addition, overloading the traffic in already saturated streets, such as Patricio Ferrándiz, does not benefit either the public transport line, nor the users, much less the usual road traffic.

2. Creation of a circular line that facilitates access to the parking garages and access to the municipal cemetery, Madrigueres Sud sports area and municipal sports center: Another municipal facility that completely abandons this mobility plan is the Municipal Cemetery. No stop has been planned in this environment, and also returning to the previous point, people over 65 are usually the majority users. A stop at the Municipal Cemetery would also solve the accessibility to the Madrigueres sports area, whose accesses lack sidewalks in much of the route.

Accessibility to the sports area of the Municipal Sports Center, where the lack of parking spaces in some of the sporting events (Minijocs), daily attendance at Municipal Schools, users of the Municipal Swimming Pool and official competitions on weekends, it is patent. No stop has been contemplated on the CIRCULAR Line, which will certainly serve the most used facility in the city. There is also no stop at IES Sorts de la Mar, or at IES María Ibars, where apart from providing a service to the student community, it would offer a significant flow of passengers.

3. Creation of a stop on the line of the Regional Hospital of la Xara to provide service to its neighbors to move to Dénia: The proximity of La Xara to the Regional Hospital is evident, so it is surprising that a stop is not foreseen within the HOSPITAL COMARCAL Line, in it. This could provide the residents of La Xara, a means of transport to move to Dénia, without having to travel with their own vehicle.

4. Incorporation of a stop on the line Les Rotes in the area of the Marina de Dénia that provides service to both the users of this port area and the clients of the Hotel Port Dénia.

One of the facilities in the city with the most traffic of people throughout the year is the Puerto Marina de Dénia, and we realize that it has also been left out of any Line. A stop on the Les Rotes Line should be contemplated at the access roundabout to the Denia Marina, which is large, also providing a service to the Hotel Port Dénia, the one with the largest hotel capacity in the city.

  1. Roberto says:

And for scooters (type A)? Do they keep leaving us out of town?

Dènia is the worst legislation in Spain at this point.

    The electric skateboard:

    - Decongests traffic, it is fluid
    - It is ecological
    - Few accidents

Dènia only allows bike lanes, which are practically. nonexistent in the city.

Citizens are betting on this means, and the city of Dènia is canceling it.
