Mengual, meanwhile, was in charge of presenting the document. The mayor of Participación Ciudadana thanked the collaboration to all parties and the platform Stop Evictions.
Then he tried to explain the three basic points of the initiative. First, in the area of City Council it intends to immediately create the Joint Committee. This was already created and in it the departments gathered Housing, Social Welfare with the platform Stop EvictionsBut the idea now is that more associations and financial institutions to join.
The second point is dedicated to dealing with banks. The City Council will meet with representatives of all banks to have temporary sessions so you can take agreements. The aim of this will be that these entities work together to avoid the maximum that people will take their homes.
Point three will be dedicated to talking to the Department of Housing of the Generalitat Valenciana so that from this administration is carried out ensure that the fundamental right to housing is met. This is something that corresponds to this consellería therefore the City Council will require, in the words of Mengual "has already been sued". Since this administration has already been launched in this regard, Mengual said that the local government will "at your disposal to help in whatever it takes".
Finally, to keep track of the people who are most in need, there will be a census of all who have this kind of problem. Help will be asked the court to from there a list of people who are demanded to be evicted, so we can make such a census.
