"We are much more than sun, beach and shrimp," he repeats. Compromís, in reference to its defense of quality tourism, seasonally adjusted and that, in addition to promoting gastronomy, also bets on sporting events, historical heritage, culture and the natural environment as elements of attraction.
That is the general idea present in the tourism section of the La Dénia program that we want, with proposals such as the promotion of programs that enhance the image of Dénia as a tourist sector with a natural, healthy and cultural environment; with the realization of cultural and musical, sports festivals (such as Dénia Ciudad del Running); or connecting natural and historical routes, making them accessible with a QR guide system.
«We believe that our gastronomy has a tourist attraction and an immense differentiating value, a good job is being done to disseminate it from the sector, with the Creative City of Gastronomy and with all the training commitment present, but we believe that we still have great potential to exploit in other areas, and for this reason we are committed to transversality. We want to be known for much more than good food and our beaches».
These and other proposals were discussed yesterday at a meeting of the Valencian supporters with AEHTMA, in which issues were addressed from disagreement or agreement, "but always from dialogue to reach points of understanding", he said Rafa Carrió, mayoral candidate. In this sense, he explained that "we are very happy with the meeting and we have taken up the gauntlet of all the proposals that he made to us." In reference to issues of greatest disagreement, such as the tourist tax: «Compromís is the only party that defends it as a mechanism to have an impact on better public services, but in no way will we impose a policy without studying it, discussing it and agreeing on it with the sector , and that's how we transmit it ».
The Valencian supporters promised to expedite and facilitate procedures, licenses and concessions with a single window, as in other cities; facilitate the increase of taxis; take a friendly walk from Les Bassetes to Dénia; and offer quality public transport that connects park-and-rides with the center, as well as a bus line through the center of Dénia "as we have already been claiming this legislature and now also in our program," says the mayoral candidate.
Carrió thanked the meeting held, as well as the involvement and collaboration of the association in the sector, and has expressed his willingness to continue working with it from the City Council.
