Compromís exhibits muscle in Dénia and advocates a policy of understanding and not of absolute majorities

May 17 from 2023 - 11: 22

During the afternoon of Tuesday, the Plaza del Consell de Dénia hosted the great central act of the electoral campaign of Compromís in the Marina Alta. The dianense candidate, Rafa Carrió, surrounded himself with the majority of candidates from the entire region and had the unconditional support of the candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat, Joan Baldoví, and the candidates from the Alicante list Aitana Mas and Gerard Fullana.

At 19:00 p.m., the time scheduled for the start of the event, there was not a single free chair left. The square was overflowing awaiting the arrival of the protagonists. The act, presented by the number two of Dénia, María José García, began with the intervention of Rosa Vila, candidate to recover the mayoralty of Teulada-Moraira after the controversial motion of censure during the legislature due to the controversial change of opinion of two socialist defectors.

The prosperous city of Rafa Carrió

After her came the turn of a comfortable Rafa Carrió before the large number of supporters gathered there. Carrió promised to work from the municipality so that the neighbors had all the basic and fundamental needs covered. With "a realistic program", and he threw the poisoned dart at his rivals on the Dianense right: "Far from pharaonic proposals that smell of corruption."

His speech placed great emphasis on the situation of young people who after finishing their studies cannot work in Dénia, "talent is being lost", and if they get a job they have to go live abroad due to the "exorbitant prices" of housing. "We want a prosperous and respectful city," stressed the Valencian.

The candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat de Compromís, Joan Baldoví, also praised the Dénia candidate. "Rafa is a good person, and we need good people to do politics, because we have had too many years of bad people doing politics." In addition, Baldoví criticized the situation in Dénia during the last legislature, with a one-color government of the PSPV. «Absolute majorities are not good. Coalition governments are good", defending that coalitions work "because there are different views".

But, although the understanding is defended, Carrió is clear when it comes to forming a government: "We are not the complement of anyone."

A region that matters, with patients instead of clients

It should not be forgotten that the government of the Generalitat is also decided on May 28, for which reason the act also called for the vote in the autonomous elections. And that was the role of Gerard Fullana, in the first place. Like the following interventions, Fullana defended a key for the next legislature: hospital reversion. "There are twelve days left to go from being clients to being patients," promised the Compromís candidate, assuring that he would work from minute one for that objective. Of course, he intoned the mea culpa and he apologized for not having achieved the reversal during the legislature. "We have said many times that we were going to put an end to private healthcare, but they have made it impossible for us."

Fullana, a resident of Xaló, was very correct when pointing out that the Compromís candidacy is the only one with options to bring someone from the Marina Alta to the deputation (in reference to the PSPV and PP where either there are no regional candidates or they are far from the starting points). The candidate assumed that no one would lose sleep over the problems of the region being from outside. It is something that Baldoví emphasized later: "You have to be present where things that will affect us tomorrow are decided."

Aitana Mas, number one on the Alacant list and current vice president of the Consell and councilor for Equality and Inclusive Policies, also insisted on how important it was to achieve hospital reversion. But her speech focused on everything related to social welfare, an area that she has led in recent years, and she gave the example of the Fontilles center as a benchmark throughout the Valencian territory due to its management and number of public places to cover different needs. In addition, she recalled that the Botànic plans to build five residences for the elderly in the Marina Alta.

He had time to answer the criticism that the opposition has leveled at the Consell. But he has assured that despite having clashed on some points, defending that dialogue between different points of view is important, they have been "the most stable government of the Generalitat."

Baldoví and Sebastià's dream

Financing, health, housing... Many topics were those that Joan Baldoví dealt with in his speech, but like Carrió he preferred to focus on things that are not usually so mediatic: «292 two-year-old boys and girls from Dénia do not have to pay for childcare today. It is one of the milestones that Compromís defends, the result of the work that they have done at the head of the Education area over the years. This means savings for families, according to the candidate, of about 2.500 euros.

He also wanted to respond to those who say that Compromís does not know how to manage, recalling that today there are 172 members of the PP convicted and zero from Compromís.

And called for a mobilization dianense style, showing himself proud of what the Valencian movement has achieved in Dénia throughout its history. "You made it possible for us to have a mayor in Dénia in the first 90s," he said in reference to Sebastià Garcia (UPV-Bloc). «I have the dream of Sebastià. I want to be the first Valencian President of the Generalitat».

Compromis only wants the independence of the Valencian Country. And he doesn't give a damn about the rest of the country.
Spain has to be a Federal State, like the United States.
A country with harsh laws (federal laws), with a powerful economy (large companies, a multitude of services (hospitals, schools...) and strong banks (Federal Reserve)), a powerful army (nuclear weapons), and a constructive society (just two dominant parties, no religious problems, protectionist country).
The United States is a good country although it has to improve.
And that's what we need here.
Not pure egoists who only want the interest of their land.
    That's Commitment
