Compromís Dénia will ask to eliminate the old cables from the facades and bury the aerial wiring

16 September 2021 - 11: 19

Compromís Dénia wants to propose in the next Territory commission that the City Council promote an agreement to eliminate the oldest cables from the facades and bury the overhead wiring. In this way, an agreement should be established with the electricity and telecommunications companies that operate in the city.

In the same way, they will ask that a calendar of actions be established to be able to carry out these measures progressively and "according to resources, prioritizing conflictive areas." They also add to their proposal the idea of integrating these actions into urban and landscape master plans.

This petition was born in response to the complaints of the residents of Dénia, who observe numerous cables in dangerous conditions or that damage the image of the municipality. Rafa Carrió, a spokesperson for Compromís believes that to defend "friendly urban environments and for people" it is necessary to carry out this type of improvement.

The spokesperson adds: "We are aware that the construction and urbanization ordinance stipulates that all new connections between aerial networks will be buried and that if wiring is to be inserted in a building, it will have to be done according to regulations."
