The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued an alert for Dénia and other towns in the Mediterranean due to the arrival of an Isolated Depression at High Levels (DANA), which is expected to affect the region in the coming days.
According to forecasts, the DANA could bring rainfall accumulations of up to 50 mm, accompanied by thunderstorms and possible hail. These conditions increase the risk of flooding in vulnerable areas, especially in coastal and urban areas with insufficient drainage systems.
Weather forecast: rain and storms in Dénia
For Dénia, the AEMET forecasts significant rainfall between 16 and 18 January, with greater intensity during the afternoons. Temperatures will range between a minimum of 6°C and a maximum of 16°C, and moderate northeasterly winds are expected, which could intensify during stormy episodes.
The alert is currently yellow on the northern coast of the province of Alicante due to rainfall with accumulations of up to 60 mm in 12 hours, with the possibility of hail. The yellow alert is activated for Thursday and Friday, the latter day coinciding with another alert of the same level for coastal phenomena.
