Ciudadanos offers to mediate between the nurses of Santa Llúcia and the Dianense executive to avoid the strike

11 December 2020 - 09: 55

Just four days before the announced start of the strike by the health personnel of the Santa Llúcia Residence and after weeks of negotiations between the nursing home nurses and the government team, the
positions are more and more distant, and the solution to this labor conflict seems more and more distant.

For this reason, the municipal group Ciudadanos in the Dénia City Council has held meetings with both parties, as well as with some municipal workers unions, to learn first-hand the position of all parties.

Susana Mut, spokesperson for the Municipal Citizens Group, has presented to both parties her will to mediate between them, "with the aim that the strike does not take place and that the workers obtain a clear and concise answer about their claims". “We offer ourselves to carry out a mediation task between the two parties, after the City Council rejected that of the Labor Arbitration Court of the Valencian Community, proposed by the strike committee, and more taking into account that little or nothing has advanced the negotiations", have reported since training.

"For this reason, we offer to coordinate the meetings that are held from now on, and seek a solution that satisfies both parties, and above all, does not harm the users of the Santa Lucia Residence". With this proposal, Ciudadanos intends to lay the foundations for a negotiation that currently "It has no prospect of being solved in the short term, and we believe that our intervention in the conflict can significantly reduce the tension that exists at this time", has commented the orange representative.

For her part, Estefanía Schwamb, delegate councilor at the Negotiation Table at the Dénia City Council for Citizens, has commented that “After listening to all parties, we believe that their positions can be brought closer to a common point, but for that there must be a negotiating will, and not an imposition, although time is running out and we are at Thursday, with little negotiation next Monday, the first day of calling an indefinite strike ".

From Ciudadanos they allege: "We are going to continue working to prevent this strike, which mainly affects users of the residence and their families, within the complicated situation created by the current pandemic, the most affected group being that of our elders".
