Citizens demand a solution to the problems generated by the Telefónica building to the residents of La Mar street

06 June 2018 - 07: 25

The municipal group Citizens in the City of Dénia has echoed a historical protest of the residents of the street La Mar, related to the noise generated by the Telefónica building located at the height of the 47 number of the road.

Day ago, the spokesman for the orange training asked the councilor for the environment, Josep Crespo, about the situation, since the machinery installed in the building is not licensed.

Crespo informed that Telefónica has ignored months of City Council requirements to present an acoustic audit and that it has just been fined 2.000 € and 400 € more per month until it complies with the mandate. Some amounts that Citizens consider invaluable for such a large company.

Sergio Benito regretted this situation, stating that "The reality is that Telefónica is lacking not only its legal, but also social responsibility, producing unacceptable wear and tear on its neighbors and hiding behind its dominance position in the market".

The mayor of Ciudadanos has affirmed that "The government team has to wake up and leave the offices to do their job, settling the matter with a meeting with the company in Alicante". Benito has been very critical of the passivity of PSPV - Compromís whom he has accused of being very brave to squeeze neighbors and local merchants, but "absolutely unable to face an issue above that".
